What We Do

Joan was the beginning of a pursuit to save the large dogs in shelters.  I was told Joan was mean and would be euthanized.  Her being mean was so far from the truth.  Dogs sometimes appear to be mean when locked in little cages or when they are fearful.  It is pretty scary being in a strange place that has lots of barking dogs and no familiar faces.  Joan is the most gorgeous, sweet, smart, unmean dog I have ever met.  I am so glad the threat of killing her was made; otherwise, I would not have been able to enjoy the fabulous relationship we have or the time we have spent together.
